Bulls guard Jimmy Butler will miss the next 3-4 weeks with a strained left knee. The 26-year-old was selected by coaches as a reserve for the Eastern Conference squad, marking his second straight All-Star nod, but will now have to bow out of Sunday's festivities. Butler will be replaced in this weekend's All-Star Game by Chicago teammate Pau Gasol.

Marc Gasol out indefinitely

Marc Gasol is out indefinitely with a broken bone in his right foot. He left Monday's overtime loss to Portland in the first quarter after scoring 11 points and did not return. The New York Knicks fired coach Derek Fisher on Monday after the team lost its fifth straight game and nine of its past 10. The Knicks are 23-31 this season after going 17-65 in Fisher's first season in 2014-15. Associate head coach Kurt Rambis was promoted to interim head coach at least through the rest of the season.

Butler's knee injury not as serious as feared

Chicago Bulls star Jimmy Butler took a hard fall on Friday and hurt his left knee. After an anxious night of sleep, the Bulls were able to breathe a sigh of relief when the exam revealed that Butler has a strained left knee and no significant ligament damage. There was no immediate timetable for his return, and coach Fred Hoiberg said the team would have a better idea after Butler is examined by team doctors in Chicago on Sunday.

Chicago 6.2.16
Butler wheeled off court

Chicago Bulls guard Jimmy Butler was wheeled off the court late in the second quarter Friday night at Denver after apparently aggravating a left knee injury. He had returned to action for the Denver game after missing Wednesday's game at Sacramento - the first game he has missed this season - with left knee tendinitis. He suffered the injury Monday at Utah when he banged his knee in an on-court collision.

San Ant. 5.2.16
Ginobili out at least month

Spurs guard Manu Ginobili is out for at least a month after surgery for a testicle injury he suffered during the team's win over New Orleans earlier this week. The Argentine was enjoying a resurgent season after contemplating retirement in the offseason following numerous nagging injuries over the past few seasons. Ginobili is averaging 10 points, 3.3 assists, 3 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 19.7 minutes for the Spurs, who beat the Pelicans to set a conference record with their 27th straight victory at home.

Dallas 3.2.16
Williams out against Heat

Mavericks point guard Deron Williams will be out against Miami on Wednesday night after injuring his right hip in the previous game at Atlanta. Dallas is also without backup guard Devin Harris, who will miss his sixth straight game with left big toe sprain. It's the same toe that required surgery before the 2013-14 season.

New Orl. 1.2.16
Evans ruled out

Pelicans guard Tyreke Evans has been ruled out for New Orleans' matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies, marking the third straight game he has missed because of right knee tendinitis. Earlier Monday, coach Alvin Gentry predicted Evans was "probably not going to play," even as he stressed Evans probably was capable of playing through the pain. Evans is New Orleans' third leading scorer, averaging 15.2 points to go with 6.6 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game.

Atlanta 31.1.16
Millsap listed as probable

Atlanta Hawks forward Paul Millsap is listed as probable for Sunday's game at Miami with a left ankle sprain. Millsap hurt his ankle in the second quarter of Thursday's loss at Indiana when he stepped on another player's foot. He did not play in the second half and finished with a season-low four points. Millsap leads the Hawks with his averages of 18 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. His 87 steals also lead the team.
